Hi Chrissie,

What a kind and caring soul you are. I know you've said that you have known them for 28 years, but reading your post made me think how fortunate your friend and her parent's are to have you in their life.

We must not forget that this could be a situation that any of us might find ourselves in one day, and hopefully there will still be wonderful people like you around who care enough to offer their time.

Love,

Barbara

I so feel for you Chrissie, and the washing machine.

I have also had this happen to me, not quite as severe, but pretty similiar. I used to care for an elderly man from our Church and began doing some washing for him after his dear wife died.

My machine was never the same again. I was very careful to always wash his clothes seperately and 'check' for ominous things.

God Bless,

Amanda

I agree wholeheartedly with Barbara! Thank goodness that we still have people like you in this society! And they say that community and society are no longer! You prove them wrong Chris.

Sorry you had such a horrible time with the washing. When I used to do washing for my parents or inlaws, I always soaked the clothes in a bucket first.

Have you tried using bicarb or soda crystals to clean out the washing machine?

no good idea i used vinger thinking that would do the smell .
But 2 washes have been 4 times and it still whiffs .

So i am having to have to think of something .As i rinsed with a pit of soap before i started .

its mainley the bed pads and underwere which is the worst and a towel .
the sheets whiff slightley .Though they where done rinsed and washed 2 times and i put vinger in the wash .

i think the flat will start too smell so may ring inconcantce people too see if we can have hospital sheet service and someone needs pads ...

i have always got rid of smells up to now .But this is worse .

Hi Christine

Barbara is right- you are wonderful. A pity there aren't more like you around. As she said- we could be in the same situation ourselves one day, and I hope that if I am, there is someone to help me.

Not a pleasant experience for you- and I thought getting a stray tissue in the machine was bad enough! I must admit it did make me smile though!
